Position Overview

Alliance RV is looking for a Controller to oversee general accounting operations. Responsibilities for this role include month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, tax and other compliance, financial and operational reporting, and other duties as assigned. We are seeking an individual with excellent analytical skills as well as a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five to seven years of experience as well as the ability to collaborate and manage a team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least five years of public accounting or private company accounting experience
• CPA designation is not required, but is preferred

Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts
• Prepare financial statements and relevant management reports
• Analyze financial information and summarize findings
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Manage accountants and functional specialists
• Prepare and file sales tax returns
• Assist with tax audits, tax incentives, and tax returns as needed
• Direct external audits to ensure compliance
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Skills

• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, an in-depth understanding of GAAP, and familiarity with financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact across all levels of the organization
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly motivated to learn, grow, and take on increasingly higher-level tasks
• Track record of thriving in an entrepreneurial and self-starting environment
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
