Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selecting all the equipment needed for the sewing process, which includes setting up the machine and its peripherals, and using the tools correctly (including scissors, knives, fasteners, stiffeners, templates and measuring devices)
  • Operators are also responsible for monitoring machine operation, which can include fixing attachments like needles, threads, pattern plates or cutting blades
  • Responsible for inspecting the product after it has been rendered and setting apart quality passed garments and setting apart defective or lower-quality garments for correction or disposal
  • Keeping record of the orders processed
  • Ensuring that textile parts are in correct sequences and confirming that the color lots and textile patterns match
  • Needs to work on sewing machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Should have good organizational skills for sorting and cutting textile parts for joining
  • Should have high hand dexterity to operate sewing machines
  • Should have some interpersonal skills
  • Should have initiative in getting the job done
  • Must be able to work additional hours and up to six days a week, as needed

Assembler qualifications and skills

  • High school diploma/GED Preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in sewing assembly work or specialized training
  • Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts
  • Basic math and communication skills required
  • Ability to read and follow tape measures, diagrams, and printed instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
