Job Overview

The Team Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing and helping lead a team of direct labor associates in the manufacture and assembly of products, components and parts for custom Class B RV’s and Luxury Vehicles. Leading, coaching, and motivating team members to meet the expectations of the business unit concerning: Safety, Teamwork, Quality, Production, Cost, and 5S using lean practices are required. They must also maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions in order to meet safety and quality requirements.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Meet and follow all safety and quality requirements
  • Computer knowledge:  Must be able to interpret and understand drawings, Bills of materials and other verbal and written instructions
  • Identify and report errors when found on Prints and Bills of Materials
  • Maintain Accountability for Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, and 5S
  • Insure proper employee training and matrix tracking weekly
  • Coach, develop, instruct, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable
  • Be on floor at start-up, shut-downs, and breaks to lead team
  • Work with other members of the assembly process to complete coaches within the allotted time frame.
  • Ability to problem solve and use root cause analysis for continuous improvement

             And other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in lead/supervisory/management experience
  • High school diploma required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate in English
  • Above average communication skills
  • Capable of reading a tape measure and other measuring devices
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn, utilize and promote Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Good time management skills
  • Cross functional and team leadership skill highly preferred
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Good hand eye coordination
